Be clever, play brilliant, and learn how to play craps the ideal way!

Dice and dice games goes back to the Crusades, but modern craps is approximately one hundred years old. Current craps formed from the old English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the beginnings of the game, but Hazard is believed to have been discovered by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, sometime in the 12th century. It is supposed that Sir William’s knights played Hazard amid a siege on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was gotten from the fortification’s name.

Early French colonizers brought the game Hazard to Nova Scotia. In the 1700s, when exiled by the English, the French relocated south and settled in southern Louisiana where they a while later became known as Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they brought their favorite game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns modernized the game and made it fair mathematically. It is believed that the Cajuns adjusted the name to craps, which was gotten from the name of the non-winning throw of 2 in the game of Hazard, recognized as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi river boats and all over the country. Most think the dice maker John H. Winn as the founder of modern craps. In 1907, Winn assembled the modern craps setup. He appended the Don’t Pass line so players can wager on the dice to not win. At another time, he established the spots for Place bets and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
