Be smart, play cunning, and pickup craps the proper way!

Dice and dice games goes all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is approximately a century old. Current craps developed from the ancient English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the origin of the game, although Hazard is said to have been invented by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the twelfth century. It’s supposed that Sir William’s knights enjoyed Hazard amid a blockade on the fortress Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was gotten from the castle’s name.

Early French settlers brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when expelled by the English, the French headed south and located refuge in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they brought their favorite game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it mathematically fair. It’s believed that the Cajuns altered the name to craps, which was acquired from the name of the losing throw of snake-eyes in the game of Hazard, known as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi riverboats and across the nation. A good many think the dice builder John H. Winn as the founder of modern craps. In the early 1900s, Winn created the modern craps setup. He added the Do not Pass line so gamblers can bet on the dice to lose. At another time, he invented the spots for Place wagers and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
