Be clever, play brilliant, and pickup craps the right way!

Dice and dice games goes back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is just about a century old. Modern craps come about from the 12th Century Anglo game called Hazard. No one absolutely knows the beginnings of the game, but Hazard is believed to have been made up by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, around the 12th century. It’s theorized that Sir William’s paladins gambled on Hazard through a siege on the fortification Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was gotten from the citadel’s name.

Early French colonizers brought the game Hazard to Nova Scotia. In the 1700s, when exiled by the British, the French headed down south and discovered refuge in southern Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they brought their favorite game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it mathematically fair. It’s believed that the Cajuns adjusted the title to craps, which is acquired from the term for the non-winning throw of two in the game of Hazard, known as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi scows and all over the country. Many acknowledge the dice maker John H. Winn as the father of modern craps. In the early 1900s, Winn designed the modern craps layout. He added the Do not Pass line so gamblers can bet on the dice to not win. Afterwords, he invented the spaces for Place wagers and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
