Be brilliant, play clever, and master craps the correct way!

Dice and dice games goes all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but modern craps is just about one hundred years old. Current craps formed from the ancient Anglo game called Hazard. No one knows for sure the beginnings of the game, however Hazard is said to have been created by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, sometime in the 12th century. It’s believed that Sir William’s knights gambled on Hazard through a blockade on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was gotten from the fortification’s name.

Early French colonizers imported the game Hazard to Canada. In the 1700s, when displaced by the English, the French moved down south and found sanctuary in southern Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns. When they were driven out of Acadia, they took their preferred game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it mathematically fair. It’s said that the Cajuns altered the title to craps, which is gotten from the name of the losing toss of 2 in the game of Hazard, known as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game moved to the Mississippi river boats and throughout the country. A good many acknowledge the dice maker John H. Winn as the founder of modern craps. In 1907, Winn designed the modern craps setup. He appended the Don’t Pass line so gamblers can bet on the dice to lose. Later, he designed the boxes for Place bets and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
