Dice and dice games goes back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is approximately one hundred years old. Modern craps come about from the 12th Century Anglo game referred to as Hazard. No one absolutely knows the beginnings of the game, but Hazard is believed to have been discovered by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the twelfth century. Early French colonists imported the game Hazard to Acadia. In the 18th century, when driven away by the English, the French headed south and settled in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they brought their favorite game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns broke down the game and made it mathematically fair.
