If the pay out for a Do not Pass Odds bet equals the amt. of the Flat wager, then the Odds wager is bridged. The part of your Odds wager that’s equal to the Flat wager is arranged right next to the Flat bet. Then, the rest of the Odds wager is put on top "bridging" them. For example, let us say you make a 5 dollar Do not Pass bet and the shooter tosses a point of eight. Being aware of the true odds for the 8 are 6:5 (i.e., six ways to roll a seven, and five ways to roll an 8), you then place $6 in Odds with the hope of acquiring five dollars. In this example, if you win the six dollars Odds bet, you win 5 dollars, which clearly equals the amount you earn with your $5 Flat bet. Therefore, since your Flat wager and Odds wager earn the same amount ($5 each), you bridge your $6 Odds wager by placing a $5 chip literally beside to your $5 Flat wager, and then laying the one dollar chip so it bridges the 2 five dollar chips.
If the payoff for a Don’t Pass Odds bet does not equal the amt. of the Flat bet, then the Odds bet is heeled. This alludes to the fact that you place the bottom chip of your Odds bet chip stack exactly beside to your Flat wager. Then, position all remaining Odds wager chips over and above that first chip but offset and angled on that first chip (your Odds wager chip stack is crooked due to the fact that it is leaning on the bottom chip).
Befuddled? That is ok, do not get agitated. The dealer is always willing to assist if you forget. After a couple of instances, it all makes perfect sense. It won’t take too long before you’re an expert. If you are not certain what to do the first instance you try it, basically inform the dealer, "I want to lay some Odds but I don’t know if it needs to be bridged or heeled." The croupier asks, "How much do you wish to put?" Suppose you say, "$15 to win ten." The dealer will request that you place your chips on the table (croupiers are not permitted to accept anything, in particular chips, directly from a gambler), and then he properly heels or bridges them based on the amt. of your Flat bet. You’ll quickly get the feel of it. Just do not be hesitant to ask the dealer questions. Her job is just to deal, but also to be friendly and help the gamblers.
